Nike Base Steps Foward To Aid Soap Box Derby
Army Personnel To Transport Cars
The U.S. Army has stepped foward to lend its helping hand in the first annual Lower Bucks County Soap Box Derby.
Carl LeMaster, Derby director, announces that Bristol Nike Base personnel will assist in transporting racers, install telephone communication lines at the race course and provide stop watches for timing.
Lt. Shefter, representing Battery D, 506th AAA Missile Battalion, attended this week's Soap Box Derby meeting and offered full cooperation on the June 15 race.
The Lower Bucks County Soap Box Derby, open to all boys between the ages of 11 and 15, is being sponsored by the Bristol Daily Courier and Levittown Times in cooperation with local Chevrolet dealers and service clubs. The race will take place Saturday, June 15, on Hood Boulevard in the rear of the Fairless Hills Shopping Center.
