Bristol Twp. NIKE Base Invites Public
 First Lt. Douglas G. Waters, commanding officer of Battery D, 506th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Missile Battalion, today extended an invitiation to Lower Bucks count residents to visit the Bristol township NIKE base manned by his battery.
Open house will be from 1 to 4 p.m. in connection with Armed Forces Day. Special Army buses will take visitors on a tour of both parts of the base, the control and launcher areas.
Visitors are asked to report to the control area, Ford road, west of Route 413. The control area is reached by driving about on-half mile west on Route 413, to a black-top road on the right, marked by an Army sign. The area is one half mile up the road.
Radar Scanners
Visitors will be shown the radar sets which detect enemy aircraft and train NIKE missiles upon them, the missile assembly building, fueling areas, and the launcher racks from which they take to the air.
"By this visit," Lt. Waters said, "We hope to give the public a better understanding of our mission, which is to protect their lives, property, and interest."
