COMMITTEE MEETING AND CURRENT AGENDA INFORMATION

The Committee for Historic Preservation (CHP) under the auspices of the Northampton Township Historical Society meets monthly. The purpose of the committee is to look at pending preservation issues throughout the township. Of particuliar concern at the moment are the Spread Eagle Inn and the old Richboro school.

SPREAD EAGLE INN

The Spread Eagle Inn has MOVED! On December 5, 2001 a large crowd gathered on a beautiful warm day to watch the move. Temperatures were in the low 70's, and it even seemed hot in the sun. The move went very well. It seems so strange to see the old inn at its new location about 100 feet southwest of its old location. Now a foundation and basement will be poured and the outside will be restored. It will look like the Ranulph Bye painting above by the summer of 2002.

Pictures of the move

Thank you for your past support to save the Inn and your continuing
support of its restoration on the new site.
