In the early 2000's a group formed at Jake's Eatery in Richboro. They would meet
there everyday for lunch. One of the participants was Dottie Glessner, a poet and
good friend. Dottie was in her own words an old crone! She named the group The
Algonquin Roundtable after the one created by the NY Times drama critic, Alexander
Woolcott in 1919 which lasted a decade. The Richboro group would discuss issues of
the day and the personal woes of those attending. It was a regular daily meeting
that also lasted about a decade. Dottie and many of the participants have now passed
but she documented the group in poems and created a booklet of rememberences. Since
this is part of Richboro's history I present it here as a PDF.
